Emma's House

Gov. Brian Schweitzer cut the ribbon at the Grand Opening of Emma's House in Hamilton. Emma's House is a setting for law enforcement and other agencies to interview children who have been victims of a crime. A child can often be subject to several interviews by different agencies seeking to gather evidence, often in intimidating settings. Emma's House has the capability for a single interviewer to question the child in a home setting while representatives from other agencies can observe and direct the interview from behind a one-way mirror.

HIPinc worked with the Ravalli County Sheriff's Department Witness Victim Advocate program to find a suitable property. Keeping in the tradition of Real Ventures the house was restored in a first-class fashion while maintaining the style of the original building.

Mississippi Home

HIPinc has been an early and consistent supporter of Mississippi Home, a compelling community-to-community relief project. The project was hatched by Tammy Agard from Montana and Annie Card of New Hampshire. During the void of relief directly after Hurricane Katrina Tammy and Annie went into the field delivering resources directly to those in need, and filling a niche missed by government agencies. HIPinc's Kierstine Lange developed our support for this project when she conducted a local fundraiser for goods to be shipped to the disaster-stricken area. HIPinc has committed a monthly stipend to help support the work of Mississippi Home.
